In two days, Devon Medical will be joining the other wound care experts from all over the world at the Wound, Ostomy and Continence Nurses Society (WOCN)’s 45th Annual Conference. The four-day program provides great education, net-working and hands-on-experience opportunities for the attendees to improve the lives of patients with wounds, ostomies and continence issues. Here are some of the 2013 conference’s goals:
• Provide evidence-based knowledge of the latest techniques, applications and treatments related to wound, ostomy and continence issues.
• Promote networking with colleagues to establish a more integrated community of health care providers caring for patients with wound, ostomy and continence conditions.
• Expand the practice of the WOC nurse through education, advocacy, marketing and legislation.
• Create awareness of the socioeconomic and global issues impacting the patient, family and care provider(s) in both the immediate and long term care settings.
“We are excited to celebrate our second appearance at the WOCN Conference with our portable extriCARE® NPWT System,” says Darren Behuniak, vice president of marketing and communications for Devon Medical. “As always, we support wound care nurses and nursing education. Our negative pressure wound therapy system was built by and designed for nurses to better address their patients’ needs. We have worked extremely hard together and they have given us tremendous guidance for which we are very grateful.”
